TOOLE DESIGN GROUP OPENS SEATTLE OFFICE

Toole Design Group one of the nation's foremost bicycle and pedestrian planning and design firms, announces the opening of its Seattle office. This new office expands upon Toole Design Group's growing presence in the western U.S. The firm's office in Seattle will be led by Peter Lagerwey, a recognized industry expert with over 20 years of experience in transportation planning and design.

Peter's distinguished career includes many accomplishments: he managed the development of Seattle's Bicycle Master Plan, oversaw construction of over 150 miles of bikeways throughout the City, and published numerous reports, studies, design manuals and professional articles. In addition, Peter has developed and taught training courses at over 200 locations on pedestrian safety, bicycle planning and facility design, walkable communities, urban design and Safe Routes to School. Inspired by his dad who grew up in the Netherlands, Peter has been riding his bicycle on a daily basis since the 1960's when he rode his bike to school.

"Peter is one of the top professionals in our field," said Jennifer Toole, president of the Toole Design Group. "His deep understanding of policy and design issues, combined with his diplomatic skills, make him one of the most highly skilled planners I've ever worked with. We are thrilled that Peter is heading up our Seattle office, and we look forward to establishing a strong presence in the western U.S."
