Nick Jackson

Heading up the firm's presence in New England is Nick Jackson, a Boston native with over 10 years of experience in planning and designing sustainable transportation systems. Nick is a nationally recognized expert in bike lane design and was instrumental in helping Chicago become Bicycling Magazine's Best Big City for Bicycling. As a project manager he brings extensive experience in all aspects of bicycle and pedestrian planning from developing and implementing policy, analyzing crash data, and creating and managing effective education and encouragement programs. Past positions include Director of Planning at the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation where he was project manager and lead author of the Bike 2015 Plan. He also worked as a full-time design consultant to the Chicago Department of Transportation where he designed and implemented over 65 miles of bike lanes and produced the city's award winning bike map.
Nick is not only committed to bicycling in his professional life, but in his personal life as well; he is a regular bike commuter and has been car-free for 8 years. Outside of bicycling, he enjoys sailing, photography and graphic design. Nick is also a co-founder of Neighbors Project, an innovative non-profit with a mission to inspire, train and connect a new generation of neighbors.
