On March 4th, the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) officially launched its Denver Chapter with a networking event sponsored by Toole Design Group. Over 50 people gathered at Toole Design’s Denver office. Among the party goers were 20 current APBP members, local and state governments, regional organizations, consulting firms, and local and statewide advocates. Toole Design’s Bill Schultheiss, P.E. presented a compelling history and state of the practice of protected bike lane design, which included a call to action to design street retrofit projects with the long view in mind. The Chapter is using the momentum from this event to plan for future events and professional development opportunities. Stay tuned for more exciting Colorado happenings!
