Project Summary

City parks aren’t all that pleasant when they’re covered in pavement. For this project, Toole Design worked with Boston Parks and Recreation to devote more of the city’s Arborway to moving people rather than just cars. To cut back on amount of pavement covering the Arborway, we performed a sophisticated traffic analysis to re-size its traffic circles and redesign its intersections. Once the project is complete, the Arborway will be much greener and more welcoming to people traveling on foot and by bike, and will make much more efficient use of space for greener endeavors.
