NATIONAL SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL TRAINING COURSE

Project Description
The Toole Design Group (TDG) served as a subcontractor to the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center for the development of a National Training Course for Safe Routes to School Programs. TDG’s role included preparation of the Education and Encouragement module, the Making it Happen Here module, and several other key components of the training. TDG staff members are master trainers, and have also assisted the PBIC in training 40 other SRTS experts from around the United States as course presenters. The development of this course was funded by the FHWA, NHTSA, EPA and the CDC.
TDG staff have conducted SRTS training courses in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Arizona, Delaware and Louisiana; and at several national conferences. In TDG’s ongoing role as a major subcontractor to the National Center for Safe Routes to Schools (FHWA’s Clearinghouse), the firm continues to be involved in training and developing other resources for SRTS program
