PEDESTRIAN DESIGN GUIDELINES

Project Description
TDG completed comprehensive pedestrian design guidelines for Sacramento County, CA. The guidelines were overseen by two committees, a Citizens' Advisory Group and a Technical Advisory Committee, and underwent extensive review by engineering staff and local advocacy groups.

The guidelines address all aspects of pedestrian design, including accessible sidewalks, pedestrian-scale lighting, buffer design, solutions for accessible curb ramps and driveways, intersection crossings, crosswalk markings and signs, midblock crossings, innovative signalization design and other relevant topics.

The resulting guidelines were adopted by the County Board of Supervisors.
