Your thoughts help the project team understand your safety concerns along Maryland Avenue. We have received comments and concerns from pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists about locations where they feel that have conflicts, where they feel uncomfortable and where both crashes and “near miss” crashes have occurred. Citizens that responded were concerned about motorists speeds, motorists not yielding to pedestrians, unsafe movements for motorists (especially at Maryland Avenue & 7th Street/D Street), poor signal timing for motorists and long crossing distances for pedestrians crossing Maryland Avenue.
