Georgia Safe Routes to School Resource Center Launches!

Toole Design Group, working with URS Corporation of Atlanta, Georgia, launched the Safe Routes to School Resource Center for the Georgia Department of Transportation. While it has no street address, the Resource Center's home at www.saferoutesga.org supports nearly 60 school SRTS programs and 6 School Outreach Coordinators working with those schools. The Resource Center is the logical next step in Georgia's SRTS Program as a place for school communities to receive assistance in creating effective, sustainable SRTS programs.

The Georgia Safe Routes to School Resource Center works with elementary and middle schools to create opportunities for children to safely walk and bicycle to school. School communities who become partners will receive support from Resource Center staff in identifying activities centered on Education, Encouragement, and Evaluation.
