General Directions

Toole Design’s Minneapolis office is at 212 3rd Avenue N. We’re in the Colonial Warehouse building, a historic five-story yellow brick structure first built as headquarters to our city’s streetcar company. The building’s main entrance is on 3rd Avenue N. near its intersection with 2nd Street N.

By Bike

From the Mississippi River Trail System

From West River Parkway, turn onto 4th Avenue N., across from the North Loop Playground. Continue on 4th Avenue N. until it ends at a T intersection with 2nd Street N. Take a left on 2nd Street N. to cross over the Cedar Lake Trail and railroad tracks. Our building’s name (Colonial Warehouse) is emblazoned in large block letters facing the trail. Round the corner onto 3rd Street N. to access the front door.

From the Cedar Lake Trail

Follow the Cedar Lake Trail to its downtown terminus at the Mississippi River. Make a left onto the West River Parkway Trail, pass under the railway bridge, and follow the instructions above.

Bicycle Parking Options

  1. There are bicycle parking loops between the sidewalk and the curb throughout the area.
  2. There is a row of bicycle racks on 3rd Avenue N. near Washington Avenue.
  3. We can accommodate your bicycle inside our office. Please call us in advance if you wish to take advantage of this.

Bikeshare

A NiceRide docking station is located around the corner from our office on 2nd Street N. at 4th Avenue N. A hub for blue, dockless NiceRide bicycles is on 3rd Avenue N. near 1st Street N., one block north of our office. The docking station has a kiosk for rentals without the use of a smartphone and either type of bike can be rented using the NiceRide app. Note: NiceRide Bike Share is only operational in the warmer months, from April – October.

By Transit

Target Field Station is the last stop on the METRO Blue Line, which connects MSP Airport to downtown, and the METRO Green Line, which connects Saint Paul to Minneapolis. Target Field Station is also the terminus of the Northstar commuter rail line. From Platform 1 of Target Field Station, head east in the direction of downtown (toward B Ramp). Turn left on 3rd Avenue N. and walk three blocks north, continuing past Washington Avenue. We are on the left, just before 2nd Street N.

Many of the region’s bus lines also run through downtown Minneapolis and within walking distance of our office, including METRO Orange Line and METRO C Line, both currently under construction. Use the MetroTransit trip planner to identify the best bus and/or train options to reach our office.

By Car

Our office is one block north of Washington Avenue and three blocks west of Hennepin Avenue. These two thoroughfares are more heavily used by Minneapolis drivers than any others in downtown.

Parking

Metered on-street parking is often available in the area. There are also several private off-street pay-to-park lots nearby.
