Traffic Engineer

Toole Design Group is an exciting and growing consulting firm with a national reputation for our work in multi-modal transportation planning and design. We are currently recruiting a Traffic Engineer for our Metro DC office. This is a chance to serve in a lead role on ground-breaking traffic engineering concepts in major cities across the U.S., including traffic analysis for complete street roadway design, new signalization strategies to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, and multi-modal road design manuals for local and state governments. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of traffic modeling for motor vehicles, and a desire to achieve a better balance between modes through creative design solutions.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in civil engineering, a minimum of 6 years of experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and intimate knowledge of traffic analysis using modeling software (Synchro,Simtraffic, Vissim, etc). PE registration is required, PTOE is desirable. Experience with signal design and innovative signal treatments for pedestrians and bicyclists is a plus. Experience with Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) is also desirable. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams, and are self starters. Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
