GIS Intern (DC Office)
Toole Design Group is hiring a GIS Intern for our office in the Washington DC area. The ideal candidate will be a person with a strong commitment to sustainable transportation, who enjoys working with a skilled team of co-workers on projects throughout North America.

Responsibilities
The person hired for this position will assist with GIS analysis, data collection, mapping, and graphic design. This position provides opportunities for hands on skills development and work experience in a fast-paced environment. This person will have strong organizational skills, will be oriented to providing excellent customer service, and will able to apply creativity and energy to innovative and unique projects nationwide.
Qualifications
Candidates should have completed coursework in geography, urban planning, geographic information systems, computer science or related field. They should have at least one year of hands on experience using the ArcGIS software suite, experience creating high quality cartographic output, and strong communication skills. GPS field data collection, graphics software experience, or computer aided design (CAD), database experience, Access, MySQL, Google Fusion Tables, etc. experience is a plus. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams, and are self starters.
Salary and Benefits
This is a part time position and would be ideal for students or someone looking for a flexible work schedule. The salary range is $15-$18 per hour, depending on qualifications. Our office is located in Hyattsville, MD, within walking distance to the Metrorail Green Line. In February, 2012 we are relocating to an office adjacent to the Silver Spring Metro Station on the red line.
